Successful Early-Career Outreach: DAV Focuses on Information and Personal Exchange

Published on June 12, 2026

For the past two years, the German Actuarial Association (Deutsche Aktuarvereinigung, DAV) has been regularly hosting online information sessions to provide prospective candidates with a comprehensive insight into the qualification programme for becoming a “Aktuar DAV” and to actively support their entry into the profession.

The most recent event, held on 21 May 2026, once again attracted strong interest: around 40 participants joined the two-hour online session to learn more about the structure of the qualification program, examination content, and organizational framework. In addition to an overview of the roles of actuaries and the DAV’s international network, the current examination regulations were also presented.

Many interested young talents joined the live session
to learn more about the DAV qualification program.

Particularly valuable were the personal insights from practice: Prof. Dr. Alexander Kling from the Education and Examination Committee and Monika Reindl, who recently completed the qualification programme successfully, accompanied the event as engaged members of the association. They served as contact persons for the participants and enabled a direct exchange that was actively used throughout the session.

The regular nature of these events highlights their importance: through them, the DAV continuously creates low-threshold opportunities for orientation and makes it easier for interested individuals to access the qualification programme – regardless of the stage they are at in their academic or career development. In doing so, the association fosters early transparency about the profession and facilitates direct contact with practice.

The next online information session will take place on 29 September 2026 – for the first time streamed live from the DAV's own studio – and will once again offer participants the opportunity to learn about the DAV qualification programme and the actuarial profession first-hand.
